pitch to the fork

this past weekend was the pitchfork music festival. i opted out on saturday so i could get some work done on the pilot. sunday i had the same idea, but eventually got convinced to check out the fest. how often do you get to see some of these great artists, anyway? so i didn’t miss the show on sunday. well, not all of it at least. diplo was fucking fantastic. check this dude out if it’s ever possible and you even remotely enjoy good spinning.

while at the show waiting for some friends, i got the idea to do a series of all the crazy hipsters and their goofy ass sunglasses. you know this trend of everyone wearing the most stupid sunglasses they can possibly find? yeah, well it would’ve been a great series had i done it… but i was lazy and hot and unmotivated. basically, stupid of me.

so i didn’t shoot at the show.. much. i did shoot a little before the show. nothing much, but some decent stuff. i’m still so busy cutting the pilot to ever have any decent freetime for photography.

this weekend is lollapalooza here in town. this means that there will be non-stop parties and lots of fantastic music. kill hannah release party on thursday at the crobar with lastnightsparty shooting and on saturday some more good DJs with mark thecobrasnake shooting there. so now i’ve got the ‘A-list’ scene shooters shooting on my home turf, and i would not be surprised if i showed up to said parties only to be refused entry with my camera. we’ll see. i’d like to check the shows out and i don’t like ever leaving my camera behind.. even if i don’t plan to shoot anything. i’d also like to meet cobrasnake mark, considering he seems to be pretty close to chris weeks and i’ve also had a few short email exchanges with him and he seems to be an interesting guy.

moving on. i did end up getting some cool stuff at buddha monday night. i’ll post the photos later tonight if i have time. now i’m off to edit as i am already running way late.
